SimplyGeo.com Growth Stats After Three Months

Published by Steve at 16:38 pm under Blog Improvements, General

Well, my fellow friends and blog readers, the time has come to share statistics with you all on the amount of readers the blog has attracted in 3 months time.  I will be using compete.com analytics data and graphs as visual aides.  Many sites like to keep this data secretive, or fail to publish it for whatever reasons.  I feel it is imperative to let my readers know how they have grown the blog in a short of amount of time.

After all, growth is a double edge sword in the blogging world.  A blogger delivers fresh content on a subject or niche and the readers expand on the topic by providing comments.  This content and comments get embedded into search engines on the internet for others to stumble upon.  No blogger can generate reader growth by themselves, they must invest time and energy into visitors for this growth to take place.  This investment of time and energy pays off when visitors interact and conduct word of mouth advertising for the blog.

SimplyGeo.com has never done any paid advertising with third parties and has grown only by word of mouth and search engine traffic. There are no domains pointed to the blog as well, although many of our network names will be pointed in the upcoming month until development is complete.  In an earlier post, I stated that the feedburner reader did not mean much.  The reason I said that was because it does not deliver any true figures of how many people actually read a blog.  It is nice to show off as a bragging tool as more visitors subscribe to the blog feed, but overall it really means nothing to the amount of readers who frequent the blog.  People like to see numbers of subscribers, so blogs insert this feedburner graphic onto their blogs.  It is very helpful to publishers though, as you learn how to use the functions feedburner.com offers.

The blog launched on 1 December 07 and has grown at rapid pace(at least in my opinion).  The month of December delivered approximately 500 unique visitors.  January 08 delivered approximately 1,850 unique visitors.  February 08 delivered approximately 4,426 unique visitors.  That is a growth rate of 134% from Janaury to February.

The month of February delivered 11,441 returning visitors, with a growth rate of 131% from January.  This indicates that content delivered was enough to get each unique visitor to visit the blog at least 2.5 times in the month.

The average stay on the blog has gone up and is now at 4 minutes on average per visitor.

These stats are all great indicators on the the growth rate of the Geo domain industry.  People are getting the word out, and people are searching on the internet about this emerging industry.  We have only begun to scratch the surface of the Geo domain industry.  You all took the SimplyGeo.com blog with zero traffic, into a site with over 4,400 unique visitors in 3 months times.  Fresh content and visitor interaction equates to unlimited growth for any website on the internet.

Soon, we will be publishing press releases for the industry to include; networks, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and developments to all major media outlets. (Make sure to sign up)  This will increase awareness of the industry and importance of geo domains in the future of the internet.

Skip and I would like to thank all of you for your support and interaction.  At this growth rate, this blog may become the biggest blog in the domain industry.  Not to bad for an unknown guy with some vision, motivation, opportunity and courage to face an uncertain niche filled with many proven professionals.  All of this is made possible because of you. Thank you for growing the blog consistently!  Please make sure to sign up for the newsletter and press releases.  Additionally, sign up for the Geo forum and feel free to interact there as well.

Thank you once again my friends and blog readers,
-Steve- & -Skip-

Very impressive results, Steve! It’s hard to believe this blog has only been around for only three months. Thanks for sharing that stats. It certainly highlights the growth potential of a quality blog with a niche focus and continuous, fresh content. Congratulations! Keep up the great work.

    Thanks Lance,

When I first started this blog, I didn’t think I would last a month doing it because of the hard work in getting it established. I am glad things have worked out and I was able to deliver useful content. Things will get much better once the network is launched. The goal is to make this blog a Top 5 in the Domain Industry and open peoples eyes to other possibilites with domains. I think we can do this faster than it took others by simply meeting visitor needs.

Congratulations Steve. The SimplyGeo blog’s growth trajectory is really impressive. This industry is growing to the point I no longer have enough time to keep up with all the daily news and events. Consequently, a few sites providing a main helping will have to do the job. Continued success with the site.
