New Geo Blogs On The Horizon

UPDATED:  Apparently, the geodomains.org blog is now down based on emails I have received.  It is probally being updated with content.  How many of you had the opportunity to check it out while it was up?  It looks very promising and I think the podcast/radio is a neat tool.

The geo domain industry is maturing and with growth, comes knowledge and opportunity.  SimplyGeo.com is a key player for exploiting the geo domain industry to its current level and was the first blog to cover the industry.  It was lonely being the only blog in the industry. :)  We now welcome two blogs into the ranks.

They have recently been launched and being tweaked.  Tim from GeoOwners.com forum, will be launching a blog with Tia Wood thru his forum site.  AssociatedCities.com has launched a blog at Geodomains.org.  This was launched in the last couple of days.

It is always great to see the industry grow and others spend time to deliver useful information to geopreneurs.  If you are thinking about starting a blog on the geo domain industry, I encourage you to do so.  We can not have enough information on the industry.  I only ask that you represent the industry well and articulate, if you do chose to blog.

Congrats to GeoOwners.com and AssociatedCities.com for deciding to embrace the industry by blogging.

These are exciting times, there is much more to come.  The social network site is still under development and might be delayed a little.  I will be able to give you a status next week.  Continue to work hard and do your best to promote the industry!

Thanks for the mention Steve…it is getting exciting especially since (imho) geo is THE best niche in domaining. The associated cities blog is great news as I have wondered for some time why they didnt have a “public” place to chat. These blogs along with current and new geo expos will really propel the geo space.

    Tim,

NP. It is all great news. Keep up the good work.

As Tim comments, it may well be the best niche in domaining….but I think it may also be one of the most threatened. I hope that this blog and the new ones make an effort to cover aspects of the proposed Snowe bill and how it could possibly affect geo domains. There was some talk of other legislation which might result in our losing our geo domains to the relevant ‘jurisdictions’ even before the Snowe bill came on the scene. Please keep us posted….this seems all-important.
    Thanks

    Bob,

This industry was threatened in the very beginning. Many of the owners of city.com, state.com and country.com names have been taken to court and won. The snowe bill threatens all domains. It is just too bad that domain owners waited this long to react.

I think there are plenty of topics being discussed in the industry on this subject. There is no need for another blog to discuss what has been said already.

If I come across any new stuff, I will post it.

Thanks for bringing this issue to the table. It is an important one.

It’s strange. The first time I visit Geodomains.org it’s always down. However, when I refresh, it pops up.

    David,

IT is good to go now. I guess there was some issues. THis happens all the time in blogging when you are first figuring out things. Everyone thinks setting up a blog is easy. It is, if you want a basic site, but as you try and improve the blog, some things go wrong.

It is good to go now. Glad to see it is up.

yes, I went to geodomains.org this morning and had some probs…I tried to post a comment but the “verify” image never showed in the box.

maybe it’s a hint to keep my comments to myself lol

looking forward to some good times there soon…

agree Steve on setting up blogs…I been working on one for a few days…just what I needed, another learning curve to traverse :)
