Knowledge Is Power!

Published by Steve under General

book.gif

I just completed an interview with Mike Mann for a future post on the blog.  He has written an outstanding ebook called, “Make Millions and Make Change”.  I started reading it last night and have not been able to stop.  It has energized my business thought process and reenforced social conduct.  The ebook contains a wealth of knowledge, and is easy to read.  It is a must read for all domainers and established business owners old and new.

It is important to learn a variety of business fundamentals leading to success.  Even if you are an experienced business owner, you will find this book helpful.  Sometimes experienced business owners forget about the core fundamentals to success after they have reached their goals.  It is human nature to become complacent after reaching a set of goals.  This ebook challenges you to think out side of the box and delivers content that can assist you to becoming successful if applied in your everyday business affairs.

Knowledge leads to success in everything in life.  How many times have you ever heard of someone becoming a huge success with no knowledge?  It almost never happens, and when ebooks like this come along, they open new doors as you apply what they have to offer.  Professional growth is essential if you want to reach or sustain success.

There are 5 human needs in life, what is not growing is surely dying.  The most successful people in the world are consistently educating themselves to conquer their competition.  I recommend this ebook to all new comers and established business professionals.

The best part, Mike has made it available for FREE.

The WB Network Going 100% Online

Published by Steve under Development, General

This is a pretty amazing transformation that the WB network is making.  This year, we have already seen several traditional media companies make major moves to embrace the internet, in much the same ways they embraced television back in the days from radio.

Is the media revolution around the corner for all these companies?  Based on historical facts, signs are pointing to a media revolution.  The internet will continue to change the way consumers do business and daily activities.  Media companies are following the pack.

As I read this article, I though it would be pretty clever to have locals develop miniseries for geo owner sites.  This would definitely generate return visitors and bring overall value to the geo domain.  This would work for any quality geo domain.  Imagine, DallasHomes.com doing a miniseries of each quality neighborhood with some residents promoting the neighborhood.  Do you think a consumer would find value in a miniseries like this?  The possibilities are endless really.

The downfall to this, is additional bandwidth costs.  However, this can be compensated by the advertisers that will follow the local crowd.  I enjoy reading articles like this that define historic actions to transformation.

In trying to compete for consumers’ time, Warner and other media companies have sought new outlets for content, sometimes bypassing the traditional network structure and creating broadband Internet channels.

“My 20-year-old daughter and her friends are watching ‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘Pushing Daisies,’ but not on television,” Bruce Rosenblum, the president of the Warner television group, said. “They’re watching on laptops and cellphones. Here’s the interesting part — to them, that is television.”

The Newsletter

Published by Steve under General

pictures-032.JPG

Yesterday, I sent out the blog newsletter to subscribers.  At the bottom of each newsletter, I ask subscribers to submit ideas that we can implement to make the newsletter more effective.

I received an email this morning with a recommendation.  Apparently, I have not done a good job at helping newcomers understand how to get into the geo domain industry.  This reader said I focus to much on those who already own great geo domains, making those wanting to get into the industry feel unwanted.

He recommended I add a section in the newsletter for newcomers to recruit them into the industry and let them know they are welcomed.  This is an outstanding recommendation by this reader.  After analyzing past posts, I definitely have failed to make newcomers welcomed into this industry, or at least have not done so to the best of my ability.

So, from this point on, I will include articles for newcomers  every now and then to make them feel welcomed and provide some education.  Additionally, I will include information in each newsletter for newcomers.  Newcomers are definitely welcomed and encouraged to embrace geo domains.  Of course, I will need your assistance in doing this, as it is impossible for me to do it all on my own.

Readers do not realize how hard it is to cover all angles of a maturing industry without a staff.  If I fail to cover something, it is definitely not because I do not want to do it, nor is it because I do not want newcomers to get into the geo domain industry.  It all comes down to that thing called ”time in a day” to deliver content.

I ask readers to continue making recommendations and I will do my best to deliver the content you are in search of.  I would also like to welcome readers to publish guest posts and help in uniting and growing this industry.  Share your experiences!

Make sure to sign up for the newsletter, if you have not done so already.  It is a very easy process and can be done on the right side of the blog.  Soon, we will be holding contests that will only be available thru the newsletter. Sign-up!

Yahoo Adds Circles To Local Search

Published by Steve under General

This is a pretty amazing tool that Yahoo! has recently added to its local search platform.  Check out the video to see it in action on the link porvided.  Geo domains would greatly benefit with a platform like this on their site.  Consumers are always looking for the best tools to find what they need locally.

SimplyGeo.com Raises $500.00 For ICA Thanks To Page Howe

Published by Steve under ICA

In life, I find it very important to support something bigger than yourself and self interests.  The rewards to doing this are delivered in different forms and can not be predicted.  Unfortunately, there are many people who will only support something if they can directly benefit from it.

Page Howe from DnTV.tv, is a gentleman who has consistently proven his support to something bigger, thru multiple domain transactions that support the Internet Commerce Association (ICA).  He recently purchased WestOrlando.com for $500.00 from the ”Support ICA Thru Sales” section of the blog.  I would like to thank Page Howe for completing the transaction yesterday.  This transaction will be donated to the ICA by SimplyGeo.com, LLC.

We will continue to list names for sale that support the ICA, so please submit names you wish to donate.  Names do not have to be geo domain related, but must be in good taste.  The names listed so far, are all names that I have donated.  Please help me make this section a success by either donating or buying some great names that will support the ICA.

A while back, I said SimplyGeo.com would join the ICA as a professional I member.  I wanted to give readers an update to our membership pursuit that is long overdue and I apologize for not keeping readers informed.  After reading all membership plans, it appears that SimplyGeo.com only qualifies to join the ICA as a Silver, Gold, or Platinum member.  Since our network will deliver an array of services to domainers and developers, we do not meet the criteria for the other membership plans.

However, we will still support the ICA with domain sales thru the blog and donate to do our part and help protect the domain industry.  It will take a great deal of time before we become members of ICA, but hopefully our actions will show our support to ICA and encourage new membership on the individual level.

I have listed ICA’s membership guidance for your convienence:

“Businesses that earn a major part of their revenue by providing products or services to domain investors and developers must join as Silver, Gold or Platinum member.”

Fraud Listing Of Atlanta.com For Sale On Sedo.com

Published by Steve under General

When I saw that the elite geo domain, Atlanta.com was on auction at Sedo thru domaining.com, I knew it was a fraud listing.  I immediately notified Skip Hoagland, and he contacted Sedo.com customer support to resolve the issue.  Tom Fell from Sedo.com was outstanding with customer support and deleted the users account.  The person who listed Atlanta.com for sale is based in Spain and was attempting to defraud someone for alot of money.

This could have harmed business on Atlanta.com if it was not handled as fast as it was.  Tom Fell from Sedo.com did a fantastic job resolving this issue.  These days, you truly have to be aware of all the fraud on going in the domain industry.  If you own some elite domain names and are running a business from them, you may want to occassionally check to see if they are listed on auctions by con artists.  The negativity from such an event can damage credibility instantly among your advertisers if the auction actually closes.

It definitely does not show strength.  I would like to ask Domaining.com to please remove the link to Atlanta.com immediately.  The link is now dead.

SimplyGeo.com, LLC Acquires GeoDomains.com and GeoDomain.com

Published by Steve under General

SimplyGeo.com, LLC has acquired the elite names, Geodomains.com and Geodomain.com.  These acquisitions took several of months to negotiate and we would like to thank David and Michael Castello for assisting us with this process.  They were key players in making this a reality for the SimplyGeo team.

This is such an amazing opportunity as you can imagine to be an end user to industry domains.  These names deliver credibility, strength, and industry dominance for SimplyGeo.com, LLC.  We have big plans in store for both domains that will bring value and publicity to this maturing industry.  In the end, it will benefit all geo domain owners and media companies who embrace geo domains.

Geodomains.com will become the “official” media portal for the geo domain industry.  It will become the anchor to the geo network currently under development.  Additionally, it will promote other companies in the industry.  The blog and forum will be integrated into the media platform (that is already under development) to make it convienent for visitors and media companies wanting more information on the industry.

SimplyGeo.com will become the holding media company to these assets, as well as other media assets we have recently acquired.

Geodomain.com will become the premium auction platform for the geo domain industry.  As I stated in the past, we were in search for a great name to deliver this premium service.  We feel this name will work great for the game plan we have in store.

We will do an official press release once we launch Geodomains.com.  I would like to thank each of you for your continued support.  All of you make this opportunity possible by uniting together and promoting the industry as a unified front.  There are definitely exciting times ahead for all.  Please stay patient as there will be alot of postitive changes to come.  The one thing constant in life is change.

Thank you once again,
The SimplyGeo.com Team
