How would you like to own all of the United States and major U.S. cities for $108, 920,000? Well, it is unrealestic thinking, but according to Valuate.com, this is the price you could expect to pay if you were able to get the owners to sell in accordance with Valuate’s appraisals.

This post was inspired by Arbel Arif’s post, when he completed the research for the 50 states on Valuate.com. The total came to $55,550,000 for the 50 states.

The value of a pure geodomain .com is hard to determine unless you have all of the dynamics of the geodomain. There is no automated appraisal system that can accurately appraise geodomains.  This includes geo+industry type domains, such as AtlantaYellowpages.com, CharlotteHomes.com, etc. Honeslty, there might not be one that can appraise any domain accurately, but I think Valuate.com does a great job at giving you an idea of value based on a variety of essential factors.

It was entertaining to run the data and educational as well. Valuate.com enables you to see how popular the geodomain search term is on google.com and allows you to see current advertiser bids for the term.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could own FortWorth.com for $89,000 or how about ElPaso.com for $79,000? =)

Anyway, take a look at the data below and feel free to discuss your opinions on what makes geodomains valuable.

Miami.com worth more than Nashville.com? And Honolulu.com for only 350K?

  2. Steve Says:

    Hi David,

Like I said, it is entertaining. =)

Hope you are doing well my friend.

  3. Arbel Says:

    Hi Steve !

Thank you for the link… :-)

Portland.com worth $940,000… the .org just sold for $10,000. I think that was a serious deal (the .org). I wish I would have known about it, I would have tried to pick it up.

I did just buy a .org for one of these (in the top half). It is being developed as we speak. I think I got an even better deal then Portland.org for $10,000=). I still have not come out publicly with it yet.

Also just bought Cancun.org it will bw developed by early January, after my US city name. I know that some of the more knowledgable people in the industry say never develop something other than .com but I never would have been able to afford Cancun.com, I think it would sell for more than a million, but the .org was priced very, very farily so I bit the bullett and bought it.

Wish I would have picked up some pure .com’s back in the day but either way I am trying to do the best with what I have.

Hey Steve. Welcome back! I missed the geo flavor and look forward to reading again.

I own the nickname of my city (Jacksonville), Jactionville.com about as good as I’m going to get in the near future. :P Someday I would like to invest / develop a premium city name if the opportunity present is there.

  8. Steve Says:

    Thanks Elliot.

Hope you are doing well. Seen you have been doing a great job writing!

  9. Steve Says:

    Hi Mark,

Thanks. I missed talking to everyone that is for sure!

  10. Ryan R Young Says:

Maybe I am missing something, but I do not see my hometown, SanAntonio.com on the list… The 7th largest city in the U.S.!!!!! Worth $290,000.

  11. Steve Says:

I agree with you Ryan. I love San Antonio!

All of these are definitely worth much more than what is listed in the post.

  12. Bob Says:

Welcome back Steve! And thanks for serving our country! Looking forward to seeing you get active in the geo space again……
