Are You Trying To Do Too Much? Think About It.
What do you see when you look at the photo? The common answer will more than likely be cats playing instruments. When I look at this photo, I see each individual cat focusing on doing their best at playing their assigned instrument and collectively delivering music. This photo inspired me to write this short post, even if it is a little nutty.
Can you imagine if one cat tried to play all instruments at one time? It would be nearly impossible for the cat to do so and play quality music that one could enjoy. It would be a complete failure IMO. By staying focused on their assigned instrument, each of them are able to bring their absolute best and deliver enjoyable music as an individual or group.
Now lets tie this in with business.
Are You Trying To Do Too Much? As entrepreneurs, many of us find ourselves creating new ideas/goals and strategies to generate revenue. It is an easy process to get caught up into, especially if you are involved in a community of serial entrepreneurs.
However, many entrepreneurs fail to execute their initial ideas/goals to their maximum potential before moving on to the next. Unfortunately, you have many who will never accomplish anything, because they stay unfocused and continue to come up with new ideas/goals to chase. Instead of making money, these entrepreneurs often end up spending money they don’t have and never reach financial freedom.
Do you know people like this? Are you one of these people? Unless you have an unlimited amount of capital to fund your one thousand revenue making ideas, I recommend staying focused on the one idea/goal that will become your foundation/launching pad to fulfill your future plans. Pursuing to many projects will lead to failure in many occasions, because you have not learned from your initial success.
Use the crawl, walk, run strategy and generate a constant revenue source that will finance future expanisions. Create a good idea book and list your ideas/goals that you come up with. Later you can go back to the book and select new projects to develop. This allows you to stay focused on your project until it has reached its maximum potential.
Just like the cats above, if you stay focused you deliver music, or in business terms, consistent revenue. If you stay unfocused, you make nothing but noise, and end up paying out. In most cases, looking foolish to friends, family, and associates.
I honestly believe anyone can reach the stars. It is how you pursue your journey to the stars that will determine if you reach them or not.
Stay focused.
Happy Thanksgiving my friends.
