Hidden In Plain Sight, “Opportunity!”

The New Year is upon us, as 2009 winds down. It is time to evaluate the execution of your goals this year and conclude if they were executed or not. Additionally, it is a time that most people establish new personal and business goals for the new year. 2009 was a tough year for global economies and businesses as the complete financial system of the USA laid in crisis. The $7 billion financial bailout improved the crisis (at least on the outside), and the economy started to rebound in the 4th quarter. Hopefully this momentum will continue to improve in the coming year as millions of consumers continue to rebuild financial stability. As this momentum continues, opportunites are going to arise that did not exist before for the savvy entrepreneur on the lookout.

Securing opportunity at the right time is one of the best strategies to becoming successful. Timing is everything, as those who take advantage and embrace opportunity at ”ground zero”, prosper the most.

Hidden in plain sight, Opportunity! Yup, it is all over for those who keep an open mind and know how to secure it. Anyone with entrepreunurial spirit is always in search of opportunity, however, very few find what is right before their eyes. People always look in the wrong places, and continue to struggle in the crusade to financial independence. How many times have you found yourself asking, “How can I make more money?” Chances are that most of us have asked this question more than once in our lifetime. Check out this video.

This is opportunity in your surroundings that occurs daily. Hidden in plain sight, yet it is unreachable for most entrepreneurs because they refuse to see what lies before their eyes. While few are able to see and secure the abundance of opportunities that exist, most of us stay blinded and are consistently in search.

The internet will continue to deliver an abundance of opportunities if you know how to look for it, and most importantly, secure it. Simply, find a service or product that is underserved and solves or improves consumer issues and you are off to a good start at securing a successful future. The internet will create more millionaires than any other industry in the world. It levels the playing field for the small guy looking to make it big. All of it starts with a website and domain name.

2010 will be a great year in my opinion. There will be new success stories that make news headlines from small time individuals who secured hidden in plain sight opportunities that everyone else overlooked. These will be opportunities that effect consumers on the internet and the offline world. When it happens, many of us will find ourselves asking these two simple questions:

Why didn’t I think of that? and How can an idea so simple impact so many?

A good example is DJ Steve Porter who may have single handedly reinvented a complete industry how product commercials will be delivered in the future to younger generations with his remix of SlapChopRap.com on youtube.com. The company now uses it on mainstream TV.

In closing, I would like to ask readers to share their opinions on this subject and ask what major goals did you accomplish this year that you are most proud of?

Well put! DJ Steve Porter has made quite a name for himself. A friend of mine actually sent me a link to his videos. This person is not tech savvy and loves viral videos. Great target!

For me 2009 was a year of restructuring. I was able to define my purpose as a domainer and focus on creating a formula for success. Instead of blindly registering domain names I now focus on niche markets. Some of the categories I have entered into are: brandable forums, product domains, niche directory sites and geos.

Right now I am working on developing a few of the product domain names which I currently own. I feel that it is easier to monetize or sell a domain name if you have positioned it properly to rank in the search engines. I will be approaching a fairly large company soon to inquire about selling one of the domains which applies to there niche market. I was able to rank the domain name to appear on the first page of google.

I’ve also made a great deal of contacts in the domaining industry in 2009. I can officially call myself a domainer. I made the effort to invest into a domain blog and actively update it. This allowed me to connect with some of the best and brightest. Morgan Linton, Bruce Marler, Patrick Ruddell, Tia Wood and the list goes on and on!

Morgan and I live in the local vicinity and after meeting each other we decided it was time for a local domaining group to be created. The Southern California Domaining Group was then born. I can’t emphasize how important it is to network as a domainer! This group has allowed me to meet directly with the CEO of FreshDrop.net and executives of DomainSponsor.

    Great post!
