Face It, It’s About Time!

Posts Posted by Steve under Announcements on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 11:12 pm

The internet has changed everything we once knew. Human behavior has evolved rapidly in the last 10 years as social media networks stormed the internet. As I was eating dinner today at one of my favorite restaurants, I came to the conclusion that it was time for me to join the masses or get left behind. You see, I have always believed that if you do not adapt to your surroundings, it is only a matter of time before you find yourself behind the power curve.

Business evolves rapidly as well on the internet and the best way to stay connected these days is through social media platforms.

It’s time to face it! So if you would like to become a friend, associate, customer, or even an enemy and keep up to date with what is going on in my world, you can join my facebook page.

I know what your thinking, and it is not so. This has nothing to do with me inflating my ego because I have a facebook now. ;)

However, it has everything to do with staying connected and abiding by the rules of conducting business online in this decade.

I welcome readers to join me at Facebook.com/geodomains. I surely would enjoy learning more about each of you!

Even if I only get 2 invites, it will be a success. Now I just have to find the time to keep it updated. Click on the logo to join.

Posts Posted by Steve under Announcements on Monday, September 22nd, 2008 4:01 pm

The 3 auction houses, RickLatona.com, Moniker.com, and Aftermarket.com have done a great job assembling premium acution lists. The domains being offered during this venue are impressive as well as many of the reserves associated with each of the names.

I have gone through the major lists and listed the geo domains that will be offered for your convenience. Aftermarket.com has some great geo domains and I will not be surprized if almost all of them sell during Traffic.

*NewYorkLoft.com $20,000 (* For Pair)

Skip Hoagland Has Done It Again, Strikes Deal With Cairo.com

Posts Posted by Steve under Announcements on Saturday, September 6th, 2008 4:38 pm

Skip has been busy executing his secret formula to forming strategic alliances with owners of domain name brands. He disclosed a part of his strategy during his recent cover story on DNJournal.com that enables protection and security to all involved in the partnership. This secret formula has led to Cairo.com and Skip forming a strategic alliance. This is a major alliance as Cairo, Egypt is one of the most popular tourists destinations in the world. It will be exciting to see how this site is transformed in the coming years by Geo Domains New Media, a division of Domains New Media.

Skip’s business formula solves problems to owners who do not know how to generate revenue streams with their premium domain brands or those who do not know how to create new revenue streams with their brands or who do not have the time to do so. With over 35 years of business experience and a portfolio of domain brands known by the world, Skip and his company Domains New Media do not plan on slowing down anytime soon. In fact, within the next year, his company will be announcing several more alliances with owners of domain brands the world has grown to know. His goal to use his successful formula to help other owners of domain brands turn their assets into revenue streams and increase their exposure as global brands.

Here is the press release that went out today:

Skip Hoagland CEO of Geo Domains New Media, Div of Domains New Media LLC announced today his recent management and development agreement with the owners of Cairo.com. We are very excited about this new alliance with Cairo.com. This is just one of many deals that we are doing with many owners of these pure Geo Brands worldwide Hoagland said. All our development will be done in Argentina and will eventually open sales offices in all the cities in which we operate. The terms of the deal remain confidential and were not disclosed.

Hoagland said his plans are to offer his services to many owners of these Global Geo Brands who simply do not have the time, desire, or ability to develop these brands properly. What we will do is try and put the 50 story building on these properties which will increase the value of not only the brands we manage and develop, but also help in moving the value and usage of all Geo Domain URL’s to a new level for others.

This is a critical time for our Geo Domain industry as many media companies are scrambling to find a way to tap the lucrative local internet advertising market that is replacing them and their old line media products offered for years. Innovation and technology have leveled the playing field for those who own Global Geo Domain Brands.

The future of traditional media companies is uncertain as the internet continues to transform and deliver content to mobile users who demand information immediately. Geo Domains New Media will continue to build Global Geo Brands that deliver this content Hoagland said.

YellowPage Domain Sold For $10,000

Posts Posted by Steve under Announcements, General on Monday, August 25th, 2008 12:25 pm

The yellowpage industry is exploding online.  Consumers want information immediately without having to search through phone books to find it.  The internet provides this urgent and immediate need for local information on demand.

A few weeks ago, I sold FairFaxYellowpages.com for $10,000.  The buyer was an end user who will put this great name to use.  It was a good geo domain sale.  This sale should help others establish pricing for equivilant domains or better that contain City + Yellowpages.com.  If you want to see an effective name in action, visit AtlantaYellowpages.com.

Many people are concerned about the term yellowpages being trademarked.  In reality, the term is not trademarked, but the logos of the term are.  If you do a search in the USPTO, you will see the logos that are trademarked.

I apologize for not announcing this sale earlier, however, I have been extremely busy with projects and life’s lessons.  :)

GeoDomainer.com Tech Issues

Posts Posted by Steve under Announcements on Monday, August 25th, 2008 11:15 am

I wanted to inform users of GeoDomainer.com that the site is being worked on for tech issues.  On August 22nd, the navigation bar dissappeared due to Widgetlaboratory.com apps being banned from the Ning.com network.  This caused a lot of havoc throughout the Ning.com community.  We are working with customer support to fix the problem.

Please be patient as we work through this issue.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused users.  This is bad news that Ning.com management has banned widgetlaboratory.com from providing stellar service and apps.

It appears that WL became to popular for Ning.com’s liking and they said that WL violated their terms of service, but did not provide details to WL.  WL had over 1 million Ning networks using their chat service.

When the site returns back to normal, some key features will not be present.  The Wiki, members map, arcade, and instant messaging.  Our other apps are still up and running.  We are working with a programmer that will soon offer all these apps that WL once offered.

Hopefully Ning.com management will let WL back in as an app provider in the near future.  The team at WL are more than willing to work with Ning.com to meet guidelines and fix any violations.  For GeoDomainer.com users and many others on ning networks, this is just bad news and the end of cool apps that added value to the social network platforms.

Stay tuned for updates.

Thank you for your continued support.

New And Improved NewsLetter, Make Sure To Sign Up

Posts Posted by Steve under Announcements on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 5:54 pm

A newsletter is an often overlooked valuable website asset. It allows you to capture your visitors and communicate with them when they are away from your site. You are able to keep your visitors informed and enable them to keep your brand fresh in their minds. The old SimplyGeo newsletter was a crappy plugin that I did not care for much and abandoned.

I am now using Aweber.com and highly recommend it to anyone who has a site online with or without a newsletter.

There are a variety of cool features you can do with this service. The key feature that sold me is the option to build multiple email campaigns that can be installed on a network of websites. Additionally, you can add the same code to all of your network and blast your complete community with the newsletter. You must check out all the features they offer that can bring true value to your website. A valuable tool for those who understand the power of a newsletter.

Unfortunately, I was not able to download the large subscriber base from the crappy newsletter plugin I used. So, make sure to sign up again to receive the SimplyGeo.com newsletter. Our goal is to create a newsletter that is a valuable asset to subscribers. If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see in it, please send me an email through the contact form on the advertising section.

Thank you for your continued support!

SimplyGeo.com Redesign

Posts Posted by Steve under Announcements on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 5:00 pm

SimplyGeo.com has been redesigned to deliver a modern blogging platform for visitors and readers of the blog.  I have been extremely busy working on many things in the back ground and thought it was important to redesign the blog to meet the evolution of the fast growing Geo Domain Industry.

There are a variety of features added that will make for a better experience for readers.  The post text has been increased to reduce the strain on your eyes when reading long posts. The blogroll and topics now have a drop down menu uncluttering the side bar. A quote of the day app has been added to help with keeping readers motivated.  We have added a variety of new advertising positions on the blog as well.  My favorite being the peel away ad.  Most of the good stuff is on the back end making it easier to do my job as blogger.

The new look of SimplyGeo.com will take a little while to get used to, as it is very loud and modern. However, I feel that we are making the right move with this redesign as the Geo Domain Industry blog.

Let us know your opinions, good or bad. I will definitely use them to improve the quality of the blog.

Thank you for your continued support!
