Big Geo Domain Auction Today On Sedo.com

Published by Steve under Auctions

logo_ref1.gif

Today is the start of the first ever Geo domain only auction in a mainstream auction house.  Sedo.com has some outstanding geos listed for sale.  It will be interesting to see the interest involved in these and the prices they sell for.  One thing that is hurting the domain industry somewhat is the current recession in the US.  Hopefully this does not hinder the auction.  I am looking forward to reporting a successful auction for the Geopreneurs who have placed their geo assets on market. Click on the logo to view the auction.

Good luck to all!

SanDiego.com and SanJuan.com For Sale, Talk About Instant Branding!

Published by Steve under Auctions, General

moniker-logo-170x701.gif

The partial list of premium names to be auctioned at the Traffic Expo in Las Vegas was released today.  There are some outstanding city.coms being auctioned off that will draw a bidding war if the reserve price has been set to be competitive.

Lately, alot of city.coms have been placed on the market offering a rare opportunity to become a city.com owner.  Recently, Rick Latona placed Shreveport.com and Bossier.com on the market for $140k for both.  Additionally, Yemen.com sold at auction for $100,000.  Now the owners of SanJuan.com and SanDiego.com are placing their gems on the market and you can bet they will find new owners during the Traffic Expo.  The new owners of these domains will instanly become known world wide as these are hot locations for tourism.  I have placed some stats for your viewing.  I can only hope that one of you blog readers becomes the new owner of one of these outstanding city.coms.

Looks like both domains were financed thru Domain Capital when initially purchased.  It could be that the owners failed to make timely payments and Domain Capital is looking to recoup loses.  Of course this is just my opinion of the current situation, or  It may be that the owners just want to sell these gem city.coms for a huge profit!

SanJuan.com according to Alexa the site receives 2,529 U.S. visitors per month.  Google has a total of 55 million search results

SanDiego.com according to Alexa the site receives 26,685 U.S. visitors per month.  Google has a total of 283 million search results

Some additional geo names that will be placed on auction:

DomainFest Live Auction Results/Updates, Nets Over $3.1 million

Published by Steve under Auctions, General

DomainFest concluded their live auction today.  The auctions resulted in selling over $3.1 million in domain sales for both days.  There is still the extended auction of 1,700 names taking place that will add to the bottom line.  Overall, this was a big win for the domain industry in the state of the economy at this time.  The Traffic Expo is the next conference scheduled for domain auctions.  We are off to a great start in 2008 and we are slowly proving that the domain industry is recession proof!

Published by Steve under Auctions

ronjackson-120x170.jpg

Ron Jackson conitues to report from the field at DomainFest.  Unfortunately, we will have to wait until he publishes his report to find out the subjects Frank Schilling discussed at the Town Hall Meeting.  I am sure there were many great questions asked and answered by Frank.  He is a rare breed in this industry, and he is a very inspirational speaker.   You can feel the energy he omits just by reading his SevenMile.com blog.  DomainFest concluded with another party at the Highlands Night Club ending the exciting and informative day.   Today will be full of action as the final auction will be held and reported live on the SimplyGeo.com blog.  Make sure you tune in at 4pm-7pm pacific time to get upto the minute auction results.  They will be posted on the blog as they occur.  You can read the full article from Ron (HERE)

DomainFest Sells Over $819,000 In Auction Today!

Published by Steve under Auctions, General

header_current1.gif

This was a very exciting auction held today at DomainFest that just concluded 5 minutes ago.  The auction was held at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood.  The list of names on auction today were not very impressive, however, SnapNames.com was able to sell over $819,000 in domain sales today.  The big name of the day was alimony.com selling for $75,000.  There were no huge sales, however, tomorrow I think we will see a different result with prices soaring on the coveted  domains being auctioned tomorrow.  SnapNames.com has saved the best for last and you can bet the big dawgs will be out in full force tomorrow.  This is a rough estimate of the Auction until the official results are posted by DomainFest.  I will be reporting live once again for my readers, please check back tomorrow night for the same action.
